{"id":206,"date":"2014-08-03T11:17:51","date_gmt":"2014-08-03T15:17:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rch.ca\/?page_id=206"},"modified":"2023-09-24T18:28:24","modified_gmt":"2023-09-24T22:28:24","slug":"senate","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rch.ca\/en\/senate\/","title":{"rendered":"RCH Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>ORGANIZATION <strong>AND MANDATE<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Senate is an informal consultative committee established by tradition to act as a sounding board, to collect feedback and provide suggestions to support the commanding officer (CO) with respect to non-operational aspects of regimental life, acceptance of which is at the discretion of the CO, such as, but not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>regimental history, customs, traditions, and dress;<\/li>\n<li>recommendations for key appointments, such as honoraries;<\/li>\n<li>regimental support organizations;<\/li>\n<li>regimental ceremonial, mess etiquette and social activities; and<\/li>\n<li>any other subjects, projects, or requests expressed by the CO.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Senate is neither a legal entity nor an integral part of the Canadian Armed Forces.\u00a0 It neither holds any assets nor accepts any obligations.
