Good evening All,
I am so very sorry to announce that our dear LCOL Jarymowycz passed away last night. He had been having health troubles of late, especially with his heart.
Despite those troubles he was still active to the last, helping write our history, coming to the Men’s Christmas dinner and even joining a cadre of officers who stormed the Donnaconna mess in November for their annual navy mess dinner.
He was one of the greatest and most respected RCH commanding officers. He commander between 1979 and 1984. He then became the dean of the staff college.
His intellect and wit were second to none. I remember being mesmerized as a junior officer as he lectured on cavalry elan and other such things.
He was also a skilled artist. His sketches adorn the messes of militia Regiment’s across the country. Two of his prints hang above our own bar in the mess and Our Christmas card was created by him.
He shall be sorely missed.
LCOL Hlibchuk, CO RCH
