Hi,
My name is Cpl (ret) Louis Lamarre I was a member of B SQN Royal Canadian Hussars from 1983 to 1988 before I transferred to the regular forces where I served 7 years with the Canadian Infantry Corp, I served with the Royal 22 Regiment and the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry. During my time in the regular forces, I was station in Lahr Germany with the 4th Canadian mechanized brigade where I was deployed in the Middle East during the first gulf war with the R22R and later on I transfer to the PPCLI in Alberta where I was deployed to Croatia.
I decided to make a small memorial with the badges that the regiment wore and that of the GMGC (Machine Gun Corps badge) on a bushing that I inherited.
The WWI trench art comes from my great grand uncle Gnr. Alfred Sibley # 89953 who served in the Canadian Army during WWI he was in the artillery. He first joins with the 27th battery, 7th brigade and once he landed in France on the 16 of September 1915, he was then transfer to the 2nd division ammunition column. Ironically, he served in the same unit of Capt Mark Noon-Ward CD (Ret), Grand Father, Gnr. Charles McCowan.
